The meet point is in front of the Apple Store on Omotesando, the store is huge, so you definitely won't miss out. We start from walking along Omotesando area, I learned lots of histories about this street. Omotesando is one of the popular and fashionable areas in Tokyo. Follow the street you can end up at Meiji Shrine. I won't write so many details down, so you won't lose interest during your actual tour when you travel to Tokyo. :D If you are an artist, architect or photographer anything design/art relevant background, you will fall in love this area as well as I do. There are so many well-designed buildings, window display and unique shops behind the main street. I promise you will enjoy the trip as well as the food during this tour.
After lunch, we are heading to Takeshita Tori, this most famous street in Harajuku area, this is one of the must-see spots in Japan. The street surrounded by local small fashion shops, sweet shops, animal cafes and local students as well as tourists around the world. You will get a chance to try the famous crepe or the crazy rainbow colour cotton candy.
The tour will end up at the Harajuku JR Station, I must say I really enjoy this tour even since I have been to Omotesando and Harajuku couple times before. After my third time experience with Arigato Japan, their food tour is not only a "food tour" in Japan, it is more like a cultural experience, or a good way to learn the stories behind the place. I am thinking to try some other tour outside Tokyo, such as Kyoto, Osaka in the future.
Since last time I joined Arigato Japan food tour in Shinbashi and Asakusa and had so much fun with other tourists. Recently they have launched a new Crazy Kawaii – Cute Harajuku Food Tour, as a designer and artist, Harajuku can be one of the popular places in Tokyo, so I decided to join this tour with Arigato Japan lovely tour guide again this time.
As Omotesando and Harajuku area is popular with street fashion, pop art, so all the food tour is based on this kind of themes. I am so happy that I got a chance to try this lovely watermelon ice-cream during this tour. Usually, this shop will pack of people. (Want to know which shop is this? Join the tour with Arigato Japan). If you a big sweets fan, then you will absolutely like this food tour, because there are so much popular sweets flagship shops there, as well as lots of crazy cute street sweets.
For the lunch, we had some very nice Okonomiyaki, this one you need to make it by yourself, how cool is that? Also, the restaurant is super funky as well, it is behind an art gallery hidden inside some back street.
