I am so glad that we have found this amazing Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort in Niigata during our ski trip planner. The ski resort is about 3 and half hour drive and it has the longest beginner run in Japan! Super recommended!
We booked a hotel around Myoko area, it seems difficult to find a nice accommodation with a good value nearby the ski resort. From our hotel (Kofukan) to Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort is about 10 minutes driving. The hotel is very valuable for money, also you can get a very cheap lift ticket from the front desk. But it is only available for Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort, if you are planning visit other ski resort then you need to buy the lift ticket from the ticket office there.
The view is amazing, Tokyo is not that cold this season, so Myoko area makes me feel more like a real winter. You can take the main gondola to the top of the mountain. From there, you can see Fuji Moutain!
The design of the ski resort is a little bit fun. The gondola and the main entrance are kind of in the middle of the mountain. If you want to ride the other lift, you need to skiing or snowboarding down to the end of the mountain then going up to other runs. The end of the run seems like inside a small village. I saw a couple kids after school walking on the "run" and passing a snowboarder. Which is super cool!
